  2. Feb 25,  · The only CDs I can recommend for the Capitol era are The Best of Leo Kottke (note: NOT Leo Kottke - The Best), and Rhino's Leo Kottke Anthology. Both sound excellent. Every CD of the individual albums I've ever encountered are either remixed with extra reverb and tinny eq, or they're very very dull representations of the original tapes.

  8. Leo Kottke is an acoustic guitarist. He is known for a fingerpicking style that draws on blues, jazz, and folk music, and for syncopated, polyphonic melodies. He overcame a series of personal obstacles, including partial loss of hearing and a nearly career-ending bout with tendon damage in his right hand, to emerge as a widely recognized master of his instrument.
