  1. In The Stray Cats released their self-titled debut to high praise on the other side of the ocean. It contained such classic rockabilly songs as " Rock This Town ", " Stray Cat Strut " and " Rumble In Brighton " and was an excellent rockabilly record, regardless of era. The problem with the follow up 'Gonna Ball'? It was none of those things.
  2. The album was only issued in the United States after the success of the band's first American album, 's Built for Speed. However, six of the songs from Stray Cats ("Rock This Town", "Stray Cat Strut", "Rumble in Brighton", "Runaway Boys", "Double Talkin' Baby" and "Jeanie, Jeanie, Jeanie") were already included on Built for Speed.
  3. AllMusic Review by Bruce Eder [+] The Stray Cats ' second album, Gonna Ball, was considered something of a disappointment when it was released in ; back then, it had the disadvantage of competing with the expectations raised by its immediate predecessor, a miraculous debut produced under the guidance of Dave Edmunds.8/

  7. Unavailable in the U.S. Reissue of the sophomore album from the rockabilly trio. With Johnny Burnette's 'Baby Blue Eyes' this album has a killer opening track and is the beginning of over 35 minutes of red hot rockabilly 'n roll. Looking back nowadays on Gonna Ball, it seems like a minor masterpiece and probably the Stray Cats' finest album/5(11).
  8. Gonna Ball, an Album by Stray Cats. Released in on Arista (catalog no. I; Vinyl LP). Genres: Rockabilly.
